Administering Security
Securing a corporation’s work files from intentional corruption is a high priority for many administrators. The Microsoft Office development team has worked to provide ways to enforce and apply security to applications and data. Some of these new methods include an ability to control macro security levels through policies, set default encryption ciphers for all users through policies, install or uninstall Visual Basic for Applications as a feature of Office, protect Office documents with new encryption ciphers, disable access to the World Wide Web, and control the startup behavior of ActiveX controls.
